The Conímbriga region 14 km de Soure, in the face of archaeological evidence, has defined human occupation, from the Iron Age to the 8th century, of our era, with the Roman domain located from the second half of the 1st century BC

The richness of the mosaics found, the water distribution systems, the thermal baths, the remains of the Forum, and a series of artifacts on display at the Monimological Museum of Conímbriga, justify a timely visit to this ancient Roman city.

“Conímbriga it is a settlement established since the Copper Age that was an important center during the Roman Republic and that remained inhabited until at least the 9th century.[1] It is one of the most extensive and diversified archaeological sites in Portugal. It is classified as a National Monument, having been the scene of excavations since the 19th century.

It is located seventeen kilometers from Coimbra, in the parish of Condeixa-a-Velha, two kilometers from Condeixa-a-Nova. The station includes the Conímbriga Monographic Museum, where many of the artefacts found in archaeological excavations are on display. ”
